Nias January highlights

Happy New Year from Nias.

This month has been very quiet at Lagundri Bay with a mixed bag of visiting surfers from Europe, Korea and Australia and most of them of a low to intermediate level looking for fun small to mid-size conditions.  As usual we had surf pretty much every day and no mega swell, just a consistent 2-4 ft with a mixture of Point and Kiddies Corner waves.

Our guests enjoyed surfing out front in pristine conditions without any crowd factor.  We did a bit of sightseeing touring around the Island also to show some non-surfers the natural and cultural attractions of Nias.

February generally experiences similar conditions and a mellow vibe in the water.

Don’t forget our Early Bird Sale is on now and you can stay at KabuNohi Sorake in a luxury air-conditioned bungalow from A$64 per person per night including breakfast, bottled water and intro to Lagundri surf guiding.  For high quality accommodation with world class surf out front, it’s worth considering a trip to Nias in 2018.

The Swimming Pool will be finished by April and this is another great reason for surfers to bring their non-surfing partners and/or families to experience Nias.  Stay in Style, Eat amazing organic food and surf ‘the most consistent wave in Indo’.
